    Hello, my name is Nellie Hoyt.  I got started in the pet care business by accident in what started out as lending a Helping Hand.  Some friends from church that have a hobby farm asked if I would take care of their animals so they could go on vacation.  Their hobby farm included horses, cows, rabbits, Dobermans, and a cute Yorkshire terrier and a big duck!  There, began my informal pet sitting business.

           Over time, word got out and I kept getting unsolicited requests for a helping hand and in recognizing the considerable need, I decided to set up a business as, “Helping Hands Pet Sitter."  I am fully insured and bonded.  Since I live in Schoharie, NY, I am devoting myself geographically mostly to in-home pet sitting in and around Schoharie County, although I do travel for larger jobs at an additional charge per mile over a 20 mile radius.

          There are distinct advantages to using in-home pet care services. Helping Hands Pet Sitter knows that animals prefer to be in their own surroundings and familiar settings, offering a peace of mind for you and comfort for them.  My services are customized for each family, so your pets get the same care that is given by you. 

           Helping Hands Pet Sitter provides care through morning and afternoon visits, but living in a rural area, it may make more sense for you to have overnight pet care.  I specialize in overnight pet sitting.  Included is basic home care such as, indoor & outdoor plant watering, mail & newspaper pick-up, trash & recycling, litter box & pet waste clean-up.  

            I grew up on a farm and have always loved animals (and they love me right back), and people too!  Helping Hands has wonderful recommendations which reflect my commitment and passion for caring for your home and beloved pets.  I love going to work because I’m doing what I love.
